Call for AC Repair Help in Indio, CA

A short call goes faster when you can answer a few questions. First, what is the system doing: blowing warm air, not starting at all, humming at the outdoor unit, icing up, leaking water or tripping the breaker? Second, what have you already checked: the thermostat setting, the breaker and the filter? Note what you found.

It also helps to know the age of the system, whether it is an air conditioner or a heat pump, and where the indoor unit is, for example in the garage, a closet or the attic. If you are in a gated community such as Terra Lago, have the gate instructions ready. If anyone at home is at risk from the heat, say so at the start of the call. For background on each service, see AC not cooling or emergency AC repair.

Your call is answered by an independent HVAC contractor who covers your address in Indio. They ask what you have noticed, explain how they would find the problem and give you a price before booking. If you decide to go ahead, they schedule the visit. If not, there is no charge for the call. Start from the main page on AC repair in Indio if you want more detail first.

Before anyone starts work, take one minute to confirm the provider's license. California HVAC contractors hold a C-20 license from the Contractors State License Board. Ask for the license number and check it on the CSLB website. Permit questions for a system replacement go to the City of Indio's Building and Safety Division at 100 Civic Center Mall.
